Hi…

I’m Megan but my closest friends call me Meg.   I don’t think I could survive without getting my hands messy, and I have a nearly diagnosable obsession with buying art supplies and not using them.  My kids and I know every word to every Taylor Swift album (but we don’t sing the naughty ones).  I’m an introvert that thrives on deep conversations, and mostly have my shit together.  When my past catches up to me, my own therapy has helped me know the signs I’m off track, how to calm my nervous system, and find my way back to myself.

I work with women and children who have quieted their inner wisdom in order to keep the peace.  They’re trying to remember their power and discover who they truly are in a world that tells them to keep hustling, keep pretending, and question every move they make.  Oftentimes, it’s because they’ve experienced something so painful, it seems like the safest thing they can do.  They love the feeling of a pen on paper, but sometimes feel like they don’t know what to do or how to do it.  They’ve forgotten how to play because life feels very serious.  They’ve forgotten how to trust themselves and listen to the still small voice within.  Having my own experience with this, I know the value of rediscovering my authenticity, and my creativity was the perfect road map.

If you suspect there is a magic in you that you’ve buried, forgotten, or haven’t discovered yet, you’re my people.  Let’s create your way home.

Experience

I’ve spent the last 25 years learning and growing (both personally and professionally). I truly love learning. Here’s the long story short.

Elementary School Counselor - 2004-Present I’ve been at Roosevelt Elementary for 20 years!

Licensed Professional Counselor - 2011 I discovered my love for working with people on a deeper level and haven’t looked back.

Certified Daring Way Facilitator - 2015 After my father’s death, I felt drawn to the work of Brene Brown and wanted to learn more about shame resilience and Wholehearted living!

Educational Consultant - 2016 I utilized what I had learned from my CDWF certification and incorporated it into a classroom climate model called Tier Zero.

Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapist - 2023 When I remembered that I was an artist, I also discovered that art soothed my nervous system in ways I hadn’t experienced before. I wanted to learn more and strengthen my creative work with clients.

My values

01

Authenticity

I am always striving to show up as the truest version of myself and let go of what other people think. It’s a form of soul care and I deeply believe aligning my internal and external worlds, I move closer to my purpose.

02

Connection

True connection sets our minds and bodies at ease. Creating a safe space for people to show up authentically is a Gift that we can both give and receive. My life is centered around creating and nourishing connections.

03

Creativity

After a particularly hurtful comment from a high school teacher, I decided then and there I wasn’t an artist. After 20 years I picked up a paint brush and instantly felt more connected to my inner knowing. For me, creativity is the map that leads me back to my truth.
